Landslide was formed in late 1997/ early 1998 by Tom Macdonald (The man who sold the world) and Parki (The man who fell to earth), two friends at a school in Leeds, England. The band was started when Parki left his old band , a metal band who now go by the name of D.U.I.
The band had an initial line-up of four members, no drummer, and was cut down to two when the original Rhythm Guitarist and Vocalist left to concentrate in their schoolwork.(The bastards left us In the lurch)

The band was joined breifly by Graeme 'frozen giblets' Baldwin who left after we found out that his blues style was completely incompatible with our more rock influences.

For weeks and months on end the local countryside was intensively scoured for a drummer and vocalist (it had been decided by now that there was no need for a rhythm guitarist), well actually that's a lie, we sat on our fat arses and did nothing until we were approached by one Louise Haines (drums) who so succintly put it "I hear you're looking for a drummer".

After the initial line up of Parki, Tom and Louise was confirmed the problems started to set in, firstly it was discovered that Louise lived in Doncaster at the weekends and guess where her drums were, Doncaster. We decided to use the school Drumkit but then we found out that it was already being used in the only practice slot we could use, luckily the music teacher had a spare kit, minus a bass drum pedal, enter one Tony Birch, drummer of Karma and all round nice guy who lent us a pedal, cheers.

Louise decided to leave the band for a while because of all the problems with her kit (drum kit that is for all you filthy minded people who thought I might be talking about something else), at the same time enter one Steve Moldon, rhythm guitarist, singer and owner of one of the strangest hairstyles I've ever come across, Practices were a laugh (except our first rendition of MonkeyWrench, it still brings me to tears) until Steve decided to leave and we were back where we started.

Enter the ginger wizard, Tony (who in his own words wanted to play with a band who played decent music and that he could 'hit things for') , Drummer extrodinaire, Student and general all round nice guy, With Tom taking over the vocal responsibilities the band was complete, the product of almost a years work was finished, now we need to start gigging.

.................To be continued.
